Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is a type of hormone therapy that uses hormones that are chemically identical to those naturally produced by the body. BHRT is typically used to treat symptoms of hormonal imbalances or deficiencies, such as those associated with menopause or andropause (male menopause).

Unlike conventional hormone therapy, which may use synthetic hormones or hormones derived from animals, bioidentical hormones are synthesized from plant sources, such as soy or yam. The hormones are then formulated into customized doses and forms, such as creams, gels, patches, injectable solutions, or pellets, to meet individual patient needs.

The goal of BHRT is to provide a natural and individualized approach to hormone replacement that can address specific symptoms and imbalances while minimizing side effects.

BHRT is typically administered under the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider, who will monitor hormone levels and adjust dosages as needed.
